Why people will buy something for dirt cheap but not take it away for free
You’re changing the perceived value and the whole outlook/perception of the transaction
When you’re giving it away for free, the things that are wrong with it become revelations/discoveries/realizations that seem very big and become much valid/significant
When you’re selling for dirt cheap, they become explanations for the price… and seem reasonable/insignificant/invalid
Same product. Different context. Different visualizations/imaginations/perceptions/persumed stories around it.
